Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ has been the life of Deborah Meyers. The daughter of a minister, she has had ample opportunity to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, through her teaching and ministry in music. At fourteen years of age, Deborah asked the Lord Jesus to enter her life and it has been a love affair with Him ever since.
Deborah began her professional singing career at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. Through her summer travels with "Everyday People," she sang as opening act for John Davidson, Jim Nabors, Loretta Lynn, and Helen Reddy. Her career took a turn toward a more concrete Christian commitment as she gained experience in the groups "Festival of Praise," and "Genesis," where she began to sing to audiences across the United States in her distinctive soul-stirring style that was quickly becoming her identifiable signature.
In 1976, she made her recording debut on "Festival of Praise One," singing the Andrae Crouch classic "My Tribute" which was instrumental in her winning the title of Junior Miss the previous year. Since that time Deborah has recorded several projects and appeared often as featured soloist in numerous Christian stage productions. As a sought after vocalist Deborah has sung duets with Bob Baily, Light recording artist, and BeBe Winans of the famous Winans family of Detroit.
While in Florida, Deborah sang at EPCOT and Disney World in the "Voices of Liberty," an a'cappella ensemble directed by Derric Johnson, founder of the Re'Generation. She made numerous appearances on local television broadcasts in that area.
Deborah was featured vocalist in the touring group "The Spurrlows," when they were named Florida's Goodwill Ambassadors in 1982 and she also sang the national theme song for Piedmont Airlines that same year.
Deborah is married to Lin Meyers, an accomplished chef. She is also the mother of two daughters- Deidre Dashay and Jeneice D'Lynn. She has also recently become a first time "Bibi" (pronounced bee-bee, Swahili for grandmother) to J'leah Faith. She and her family are members of Praise Fellowship in Russell, PA where the Rev. Dale and Trudy Haight are the Senior Pastors.
A favorite of the Southern California Women's Retreat (SCWR) and Christian writer's conferences as a soloist- she also enthusiastically leads you in the joy of the Lord.
